WWF, More Like WTF

Thanks to my friend Ryan, I became aware of this dumb ad campaign that the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) set forth upon to let us know that the planet is brutal and we need to respect it. However, after being approved by WWF Brazil and appearing in a Brazilian newspaper, the ad campaign has since been pulled back. In fact, the ad agency responsible, DDB Brasil, says it has fired the people involved with the commercial. Well, now we can all rest easy… riiiiight. But, maybe the campaign isn’t so dumb as it definitely got some people fired up, which was probably all it wanted to do and for that I applaud you, WWF and DDB Brasil (sarc).

However, one question… WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING comparing the tragedy of 9/11 and the 2005 tsunami?!?!?! Besides thousands of deaths, the two events have nothing to do with each other!!! What a gross and stupid lapse in judgment. This makes me want to body slam a panda. The video (which could be put down at any moment) is below. HOWEVER, the images are very disturbing and I warn anyone with any sort of post traumatic stress regarding 9/11 to skip it… the ad image above is enough to upset and infuriate anyone. Especially someone that was in the city that day like I was.

And while this is a serious post, which goes against what we normally post here, answer me this… is there any other example of stupidity greater than that of the WWF and DDB Brasil?
